What You Need To Know About Cars And Women

“I live my life a quarter-mile at a time.” – Dom Toretto

She’s a beauty! It is an old expression about why cars are thought of as women. One of the theories why this expression existed is because of the Similarities Between Cars and Women.

I’m not talking about similarities that you can describe physically, like when you say the car is sexy. What I’m talking about are similarities that when you analyze it, you can say that there isn’t much of a difference between a car and a woman.

Here is a kick-ass checklist for those men who are in the market for a new model of a sports car.

  • AGE: Sometimes looks can be deceiving, and asking won’t help either.
  • SMELL: Always pick the model that still has that “brand new” scent.
  • HEADLIGHTS: Make sure they still bounce up & down and return in the upright position without drooping.
  • MILEAGE: Make sure that the odometer has never been rolled back. Miles don’t always show accurately on the odometer. Research may be necessary.
  • BODY CONDITION: Check the fit & finish, seams, gaps, etc. The body should be straight according to its design and have no rusty holes or body filler.
  • UNDERCARRIAGE: Must have no settling rust or corrosion from neglect.
  • GRILL: Should still have a bright appearance and have no missing teeth.
  • DOORS: Are they stuck or squeaky, nor have they been well lubricated and opened & closed regularly?
  • TRUNK: Must have no sagging and no extra baggage. No spare tire is even better.
  • ENGINE CONDITION: Check to make sure it has clean oil, has been maintained, and has never thrown a rod.
  • POWER: Engine must be strong. Willing to work hard and the ability to carry a heavy load most of the time.
  • PERFORMANCE: She should be peppy and shouldn’t get tired easily. A fast 0-69 time is most desirable.
  • BRAKES: Should work smoothly, constant panic stops are unacceptable.
  • AIR BAGS: Have they ever been deployed or are they still packed firmly in place?
  • BLOWER MOTOR: Should still blowhard with no whining sounds.
  • REGULAR MAINTENANCE: She should have been taken out for frequent drives, and her fluids should have changed regularly.
  • MAINTENANCE COSTS: Maintenance costs can go up on most older models. Try to avoid the high maintenance models at all costs.
  • FINANCING: Weigh the pros and cons of buying outright & keeping for a long time, versus leasing & trading in for a new model every few years.
  • OVERALL RELIABILITY: Should never break down and leave you stranded. Check for any groaning sounds during long drives. Moaning sounds are O.K. though.
  • TITLE: This is the most important item of all. The title of ownership should be free and clear, with no liens attached.

Please be guided by the information above, it is never an intention to hurt anyone’s feelings, but just something to think about while having a little laughter in your life. It is going to be a lot of fun, especially if you can share and discuss this with someone and come up with your checklist. I bet that you are going to have a better checklist than mine after.

Before you do something crazy, here are a few things to think about:

  • Why do we need to know all about this?
  • How is this information going to help you?
  • Despite their similarities (cars and women), is it possible that cars of the future will be Designed for Women only?

Don’t be stupid because you are not alone. So don’t worry about a thing, every little thing is going to be alright. This is more of a reminder in case you are having issues on how to treat your girl. All you have to do is remember how you treat your car.

Porsche Cayenne

Looking forward to the future, and because of these similarities between cars and women, rumors are spreading in the car industry about another German vehicle manufacturer is going in advance of launching a vehicle designed for women. Porsche took a courageous step by commissioning the smaller twin brother or sister of the Cayenne, towards women. This was obviously a response to the Land Rover Evoque, a design and endorsement of Victoria Beckham, which is driven more by women than men.
